Black Excellence Featuring Designers of Third Crown
For the month of February we are featuring some of our incredible black partners, celebrating their work and talents.
For Third Crown, New York based co-designers Kristin and Kofi Essel fuse their love of geometric shapes with the details found in their architectural surroundings.
Applying their collective experience and passion, the husband-and-wife team launched the brand and named it Third Crown to celebrate the merging of two forces coming together to form something new - a powerful pair. The brand creates gender neutral everyday statement pieces. With their collection, the designers celebrate their mutual fascination with structure, architectural lines, and bold accents.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you and what is one thing that is essential for you to do everyday?
TC: "A typical work day is us juggling working on Third Crown at home while also helping our son with his remote learning. We design, take zoom meetings, handle emails, and social media content all from home. It is essential for us to each take a 30 minute break to have “me time”."
Q: What are you looking forward to this year in relation to your collections/work?
TC: "We are excited about working on a new collection and possible collaborations this year."

Q: If you had one iconic piece from your current collection what would it be?
TC: "Our Marcy Link Necklace, hands down."
Q: What is something important for others to understand about your brand?
TC: "Our brands DNA is rooted in two people coming together to create. We hope this encourages people to see the beauty of pairing together."
